“As a young teen, my dad took me to the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The paintings were enormous! Many were minimal, some were filled with fields of color, others were black and white; but none looked like the realistic landscape paintings of my experience. It was thrilling and memorable and in some fashion informs my work to this day.”
